Name Search

I searched my name on the Internet.  I used www.google.com to search Chelae McCarthy. There are not many things that pop up. My name is very unique. Chelsea McCarthy pops up, but I do not know that person.

My track records from high school shows up. I already knew that was on the Internet.  My family tree shows up too. I already knew that was on the Internet too because I get bored and search my name. I am surprised my facebook and MySpace is not one of the first things that show up, but that is okay.  Sometimes I am on my facebook, but never MySpace.

I typed my name into www.peakyou.com.  My family tree and track records show up again. Reunion.com shows up, but when you click on it, you have to register in order to see the information, which I am not going to do.

I typed my name into www.spokeo.com.  It told me no results were found. I typed in my name plus the city of where I lived and I still got no results.

I know there is more information out there about me. I do not feel like looking for it. I already know what is out there because I made it or use it.  I know there are probably things about there that I do not want anybody else to know, but all well. I cannot do anything about it so I am not going to worry about it. I know how to take of things if they get stolen or hacked so that is all I can do. Even if I do not put anything in the Internet, I would still be able to find things about myself.

HTML

I created a webpage using HTML. It was easy. I did not want to do it, but I did it. I tried to add a picture, but it did not work. I tried using a picture off my laptop. I also tried using a picture from my sister’s facebook page. It did not work. I tried many different ways to get it work, but it did not work. I deleted that information and made a webpage not using a picture because I was getting irritated with it. Programming using different languages are not my strong points.

Similarities and Differences of Email and the Postal Service

There are many similarities as there are differences.  Email and the postal service are a way of a mailbox. Email is an inbox. Postal service is a box that is outside or inside a building. Email and the postal service get junk mail, including advertisements.  Some coupons are useful. You can store the mail to look at it later. Email has an address book and so does the postal service. The mail comes in many sizes. The postal service and email require some type of system in order for it to work.

There are difference between the postal service and email.  The postal service requires stamps in order to mail something.  Email does not need stamps to mail something, but it is not free. It is being paid for somehow just not the same way as postal service mail. The postal service takes longer than email even if use pay extra for priority mail. Email can be checked almost anywhere, where as postal service mail you can only check at your mailbox.  In order for somebody to get your email, you have to have the correct address.  The postal service the address might be off by one number and there is a good possibility you might get your mail unless you have my mail carrier who gives us our neighbors’ mail even though the addresses don’t match at all.

What I hope to get out of TINST 207?

I am a pre-major for IT. I know a little bit of programming using java and HTML. I am hoping to get an understanding of how the internet came into place.
